On Thursday October 15th 2015, our grades 3-6 participated in the Student Vote program. This program is designed especially for students to become involved and informed about the current election occurring across the country. Over the past weeks, students have worked intensely examining the different types of government with a special focus on Canada. Together we analyzed the political parties’ various platforms and discussed the pros and cons of several issues. Grades 5 and 6 led the student vote that was held October 15th which included real ballots and ballot boxes provided by the Student Vote program. Parents are encouraged to check out our results on the official website at http://www.studentvote.ca/results/home/national_results/7

The experience was very informative and educational for our students and they did an exceptional job executing the voting process with a very serious and mature attitude. We hope to participate in more of these programs as the year goes on!
