September 8th, 2014:
The school year is well underway! This week our senior grades demonstrated their sculpting techniques in class. The grade 5s and 6s reminisced about their summer days. One grade 6 student sculpted a pool, complete with a diving board.
Another sculpture created by a grade 5 student informed me of one of her favourite past times that includes a comfy sofa chair and a television set.
The 3s and 4s were a little more serious in their sculpting. A grade 3 student did such a great job showing us the difference between urban and rural communities, you could almost hear the traffic noise from the city he sculpted!
The grade 4s worked on replicas of the Norman boats used in the Battle of Hastings. One of my students managed to include the horses that were on board the ship!
