Remembrance Day

On Wednesday November 11th, Guiding Light Academy participated once again in the Remembrance Day parade that took place in the heart of Streetsville at the Town Square. Students had a front row look at all the veterans, cadets, police officers, politicians and marching bands that paid tribute to the fallen soldiers of past and present wars. Students were able to personally thank veterans and active soldiers for their contribution to society and to our community. The students of GLA made the staff extremely proud as they participated in the two minutes of silence at 11:00 a.m with profound respect and reverence. We are grateful for the experience and look forward to participating in similar events with the community. The students were extremely fortunate as we had Lieutenant-Commander Hugh SON, a veteran, stop by the school to tell us about his time in service. The children were in awe of the incredible stories that Lieutenant-Commander Hugh SON shared.
