On the final day of the READATHON students were asked to come dressed as their favourite book character.  Students did an excellent job dressing up as their characters and introducing them using character traits that were evident from the story.  Afterwards, the kindergardens did an excellent job putting on a performance from a book titled “Mortimer” by Robert Munsch.  They did a great job in bringing the characters to life and we were all very pleased with their stage debut.  The older grades were introduced to William Shakespeare through a variety of mediums including discussions, videos and a book tailored for their age.  We were very excited to introduce our students to the various types of literature both old and new and are very pleased with the way they participated in our READATHON. We look forward to continue working with different pieces of literature with our students and encourage them to continue the habit of reading.
