This week the Grade 7 and 8 class created this experiment. It is a simple way of making a lava lamp.
To make it we used: oil, water, and food coloring, and we reused a plastic water bottle. Pour in the water, then the oil, and then the food coloring for effect! It looks amazing!
But why does the oil always float up on top of the water? This is because the oil is lighter and less dense, so it rises, and the water is heavier and denser, so it sinks.
