On Monday October 6, Guiding Light Academy had its first Professional Development Day (P.D Day). All staff gathered at the school to receive First Aid training from the Red Cross. The course was specialized in dealing with emergency situations dealing with both adults and children. The course was very informative, dealing with a wide range of injuries and scenarios. We are positive that having our entire staff certified in First Aid is essential and beneficial to our school. All staff underwent two assessments (one practical and one written), and we are thrilled to say that everybody was successful in receiving their certification. The active participation of each staff member allowed for the course to run smoothly and it demonstrated the great teamwork present within our group!
