TEACHER TRAINING
All of our teachers at Guiding Light Academy are OCT certified.
In addition, we offer a intense training workshop over the summer to ensure proper delivery of our specialized curriculum.
EXAMINATIONS
From Grade 3 on-wards, GLA focuses on building examination skills for all of our students.
During these early years, the children do not face the anxiety of exams that they face at the later years
THEMED WEEKS – MATH WEEK
The concept behind Math Week is to help build self-confidence and strengthen problem solving skills in this vital subject area.
By incorporating the use of various games, technology, and a multitude of fun activities, children are able to learn math in a creative and less structured environment.
THEMED WEEKS – READING FESTIVAL
By incorporating the use of technology and audio/visual aids, children are able to recognize the importance of expression when reading and/or storytelling.
Through literacy games, children are provided the opportunity to connect with the stories and stimulate their imaginations, making reading much more enjoyable.
